The planning of the ETL began in 2011 with the launch of a small pilot program called the ETL College League, with the support of The All Seasons Community Sports Trust. We hosted our very first mini-event at Gallaher Park Manurewa in 2012 with just 8 college teams.

The need for a greater and more focused platform was required and planning commenced in January 2015 with now Co-Founders Ioane Thompson-Mita and Kena Waikai, building and eventually releasing the Premier ETL competition.

Launched in 2016 with just 6 clubs, in 2017 we more than tripled our club entries across New Zealand with 18 Clubs across 3 Premier Grades. This has solidified the ETL as one of the most popular club competitions in NZ.

The Elite Touch league will celebrate 3 years of success when we launch our 2018 Season on the 2nd of November 2018. This year will bring a number of significant changes in the way we do things, both from a Business perspective and Operational perspective.

The most significant change is the introduction of the ETL accreditation program, the announcement of a new exciting venue and the increase to club/Team Entries. This growth and evolution has led towards the need for specialised partners who know our game and who can bring the dynamic edge to our unique brand of Touch.
